Congressman Paul Hodes Supports Comprehensive Energy Proposal

Compromise Proposal Expands Domestic Drilling Options for States

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Paul Hodes today backed a comprehensive energy measure that will lower costs to consumers and American taxpayers, will invest in renewable energy sources to create American jobs, expand domestic energy supply, and create greater energy efficiency and conservation.

Gubernatorial candidate Joe Kenney: Campaign PhotoCONCORD-- State Sen., and gubernatorial candidate, Joe Kenney (R-Wakefield) is applauding the legislation to help low-income residents deal with the rising cost of home heating oil, but says the plan should have been developed earlier.

"I'm pleased that we're taking action but I think we should have taken action six months ago," Kenney told PolitickerNH.com after a bipartisan news conference at the State House.

A conservative grassroots group has begun airing a radio ad against former Gov. Jeanne Shaheen (D-Madbury).

The ad sponsored by the New Hampshire chapter of Americans for Prosperity criticizes Shaheen's energy plan.

Paul Hodes published an article in the Manchester Union Leader, reprinted in the Concord Monitor, calling upon this nation to focus on renewable energy and conservation, and calling upon oil companies to use existing lease rights. The article below responds to that position.

Bosse Blasts Hodes "No Energy Plan"
Pelosi Gives Hodes Permission Slip to Back Drilling

(Nashua)    Republican Grant Bosse blasted Congressman Paul Hodes for his recent statements on energy, which propose no new energy production. Meanwhile, Nancy Pelosi has given a permission slip to vulnerable Democrats to support offshore drilling, but promises that new drilling will never be brought to a vote.
