Bush, Iraq war remain unpopular in NH

President George Bush, and the Iraq war, continues to remain unpopular among Granite State residents.

Only 28 percent of New Hampshire adults approve of the job Bush is doing and 69 percent disapprove, according to a new Granite State Poll, conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center.

Sununu still misunderstood the social and political climate in Iraq so badly that he proclaimed we were "winning the hearts and minds" of Iraqis. One year later, even the Pentagon had to admit that the struggle for hearts and minds had not only failed, it had caused an anti-American backlash.

Gregg, Sununu urge Bush to stop deposits into oil reserve

U.S. Senators Judd Gregg (R-Rye) and John Sununu (R-Waterville Valley) have written a letter to President Bush urging the president to suspend deposits into the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

The New Hampshire senators joined 13 other Republican U.S. Senators in arguing that the move would help reduce oil prices.

Hodes says Bush should not attend Olympic opening ceremonies

Congressman Paul Hodes (D-Concord) says President Bush should not attend the opening ceremonies of the upcoming Olympic Games.

The games are taking place in Beijing and have become the center controversy over China's human rights record and the recent crisis in Tibet.

Calling China's human rights record "abysmal," Hodes called on Bush to boycott the opening ceremonies.
