CONCORD –  Today Governor John Lynch went before the House Finance Committee and proposed new ways to raise revenue to close the budget deficit, including raising taxes on tobacco, introducing a new tax on poker winnings, and imposing additional costs on businesses that sell alcohol.

ON EDUCATION COSTING BILL

CONCORD – The House Finance Committee voted today for legislation that determines the cost of providing an adequate education to all New Hampshire students. This legislation now heads back to the House floor.
