Back on the Path To Prosperity

Concord, NH—The New Hampshire  Sierra Club offered the following response to Barack Obama’s economic policy address.

“Obama’s speech shows that he understands the problems facing average Ohioans and has a strong, detailed plan to our economy back on track and put America back on the path to prosperity. Obama has the only plan that will right the economic and energy wrongs of the past 8 years.  The failed policies of the current administration have wrecked our economy and left us more dependent on hostile foreign regimes for our energy needs than ever before.

The New Hampshire Sierra Club endorsed a slate of Democrats for the offices of governor, executive council and state senate.

They did not endorse in all of the races up this year, however. They only endorsed in 2 of 5 executive council races and 14 of 24 state senate races.

New Sununu Ad Misleads on Energy Record

Sununu Has Long Record of Voting Against Renewable Energy,

While Voting for Big Oil Tax Breaks

Concord, N.H.—The Sierra Club today called a new ad released by John Sununu false and misleading.  The ad touts Sununu’s support for clean energy and action on fuel prices.  Unfortunately, his rhetoric bears no resemblance to his real record on these key issues.  John Sununu has taken over $230,000 in campaign cash from the oil industry and his record shows his strong support for policies that benefit Big Oil, not Granite State families.

Concord, New Hampshire—The Sierra Club today expressed concern about the level of influence money from Big Oil is playing in John Sununu’s campaign. The environmental group is drawing attention to figures from the non-profit, non-partisan Center for Responsive Politics that reveal that John Sununu has taken over $230,000 in campaign cash from the oil and gas industry.
