    Congressman Paul Hodes Secures Passage of Northern Border Regional Commission

    Commission to bring significant new federal resources to help North Country communities

     

    Washington, DC--- Following US Senate passage earlier today of the Farm Bill and US House of Representatives passage of the legislation yesterday, both by large, bipartisan margins, the legislation now goes to President Bush for signature of Congressman Paul Hodes’ landmark legislation to create the Northern Border Regional Commission (NBRC) — legislation which he managed to insert in the larger Farm Bill.

    Club for Growth rates congressional delegation

    The influential conservative group Club for Growth has release its 2007 congressional rankings, with New Hampshire's Republican senators scoring high and its Democratic representatives ending up near the bottom of the list.

    Out of 100 U.S. Senators, U.S. Sen. Judd Gregg (R-Rye) was ranked 19 and received a 79% rating from the group, while fellow U.S. Sen. John Sununu (R-Waterville Valley) came in 23 with a ranking of 75%.

    Hodes Fails Economy
    Receives pitiful 6% rating from Club for Growth

    (Hillsboro)  Republican Grant Bosse today decried Congressman Paul Hodes’ record on economic policy. Hodes received a pitiful 6% rating from the Club for Growth’s 2007 Congressional Scorecard. The Club for Growth monitors the actions and voting behavior of members of Congress on economic growth issues.

    Hodes to testify on phone jamming

    U.S. Rep. Paul Hodes (D-Concord) will testify tomorrow before a congressional committee that is investigating the jamming of Democratic Party phone lines during the 2002 election cycle.

    Phone lines used by the Democratic get-out-the-vote effort were jammed by the company GOP Marketplace. The investigation led to the conviction of former state Republican Executive Director Chuck McGee and Allen Raymond, president of GOP Marketplace.

    Congressman Hodes Urges Passage of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve Fill Suspension Act

     

    Washington, DC--- Today, Congressman Paul Hodes urged the U.S. House of Representatives to pass H.R.6022, the Strategic Petroleum Reserve Fill Suspension and Consumer Protection Act of 2008, which suspends shipments to the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) to help bring down gasoline prices. Congressman Hodes is a co-sponsor of the legislation and has written to President Bush calling on him to suspend shipments to the SPR.

    Bosse calls on Congressman to Stop Abusing Taxpayer Dollars

    (Nashua) As the price for a first-class stamp rises once again today, Congressman Paul Hodes continues to abuse taxpayer dollars to send out partisan mailing for free. Hodes has repeatedly used money from his Congressional office to send out letters to benefit his re-election campaign. Today the cost of a first-class stamp went up from 41 to 42 cents.
