Woods says RNC must do ‘soul searching’

Republican National Committeewoman Phyllis Woods said the national Republican party should re-examine itself if it wants to remain relevant in the future.

"Everyone is a Monday morning quarterback and I'm not going to pretend that I'm the best one to analyze either what happened or exactly what needs to happen for us to rebuild our party at this point," Woods wrote in an email to PolitickerNH.com earlier today. "What I do know is that it's time for the RNC to do a lot of soul searching and look honestly at what we did wrong, what we did right and what needs to change."

Granite State Republicans form ‘Draft Sununu’ for RNC chair effort

A group of New Hampshire Republicans is generating momentum for U.S. Sen. John Sununu (R-Waterville Valley) to make a run for Republican National Committee Chairman.

The movement, titled "Draft Sununu," comes days after Sununu lost his re-election campaign to former Gov. Jeanne Shaheen (D-Madbury).

Spaulding casts 24 votes for N.H.

MINNEAPOLIS--Despite being stripped of half the delegation, during the roll call of the Republican convention, Peter Spaulding announced that the New Hampshire delegation's 24 votes went to U.S. Sen. John McCain.

When asked why he said 24 votes Spaulding told PolitickerNH.com, "cause I feel that we're entitled to 24 votes, how they count them is up to them [the RNC]."

N.H. Dems raise more than N.H GOP

Lost in all the candidate fillings we neglected to mention the FEC filings from the New Hampshire Republican Party (NHGOP) and the New Hampshire Democratic Party (NHDP).

During the month of June the NHDP raised almost nine times more money than the NHGOP. The state Democrats raised $259,959 and spent $228,155; while the NHGOP raised $30,480 and spent $17,906. A part of the NHDP total is transfers from the Democratic National Committee and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committe  that total $177,707. The Republicans had a $15,000 transfer from the Republican National Committee.

Update: RNC begins airing radio ad in Berlin, N.H.

While U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) is visiting Berlin, Germany voters in Berlin, New Hampshire will hear a radio ad critical of Obama's record on troop funding.

The Republican National Committee is sponsoring the sixty-second ad titled "Obama Chooses Washington over Our Military."

Former Ohio House Speaker to visit N.H.

Republican National Committee Co-Chairman Jo Ann Davidson is scheduled to attend the annual Strafford County Republican picnic next week.

Davidson served as the Ohio House Speaker from 1995-2000 and is currently in charge of the planning and management of the Republican National Convention in St. Paul.

Victory '08 is the Republican National Committee program that is tasked with coordinating Republican get-out-the-vote efforts.

RNC announces NH victory director

The Republican National Committee has officially announced that Brandon Vidrine will become the New Hampshire Victory '08 director.

Vidrine will be charged with coordinating election efforts between the state party and the campaigns. The post became vacant when Jamie Burnett left to become U.S. Sen. John Sununu's deputy campaign manager.

Mahoney, Woods running unopposed for RNC posts

RNC Committeeman Sean MahoneyRNC Committeeman Sean MahoneySean Mahoney and Phyllis Woods are currently running unopposed to represent New Hampshire before the Republican National Committee.

Mahoney and Woods are currently filling the positions that were vacated when Tom Rath and Nancy Merrill resigned to work on presidential campaigns.

Candidates for the RNC posts can step-forward the day of the election, but so far no one has publicly announced they intend to challenge either Mahoney or Woods.
