Dems say NRCC mailer ‘crossed the line’

NRCC mailer

The New Hampshire Democratic Party (NHDP) is criticizing a recent mailer sponsored by the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC).

The mailer says that "Carol Shea-Porter voted to allow criminals to buy homes in our neighborhood," and cited a vote they say allows drug dealers to buy homes with taxpayer money. The mailer also shows a large picture of a hand about the pull the trigger of a gun.

To counter the mailer, the NHDP held a press conference with Tom Katsiantonis, a voter in Manchester, who said the mail "crossed the line."

Shea-Porter Financier Promises to Cut Defense Spending and Raise Taxes

Washington- Despite all of the hollow rhetoric that Carol Shea-Porter has been spewing out to the voters in New Hampshire's 1st Congressional District, it looks like she’s already aligning herself with her Democrat leaders who are ready to enact tax hikes and cuts in Defense spending in Washington.  Democrat Finance Committee Chairman Barney Frank, a contributor to Shea-Porter's campaign, admitted this week that Democrats in Congress, with Shea-Porter's help, would be poised to enact their liberal agenda:

NRCC drops 400k to help Bradley

WASHINGTON - The National Republican Congressional Committee is leaping into New Hampshire's 1st Congressional District, where U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-Manchester) is trying to fight off a challenge from former U.S. Rep. Jeb Bradley. The committee has purchased $400,000 in the expensive Boston-New Hampshire media market.

Doing the math on NH-2

With the National Republican Congressional Committee throwing a little money Jennifer Horn's way, it's worth considering what it would take for the Republican nominee to unseat Democratic incumbent Paul Hodes in his first bid for re-election.

The place to start thinking about this is the top of the ticket.  Unless things change drastically in the next three weeks (and hey, who knows?), Horn will have to win some percentage of Obama's vote in the 2nd Congressional District in order to upset Hodes.

NRCC invests in Horn

WASHINGTON – The National Republican Congressional Committee, faced with an increasingly difficult electoral map, is making a last-ditch effort to widen the playing field.

Today the cash-strapped committee contributed a little over $80,000 in coordinated funds to help Republican U.S. House candidate Jennifer Horn run a television advertisement targeting U.S. Rep. Paul Hodes (D-Concord).

"As a mom, I know it's hard to make end's meat," Horn says at the outset of the 30-second spot. "Families pay for Congress's bad economic decisions and Republicans and Democrats share blame. In Congress, Paul Hodes's committee oversees financial companies. But Paul Hodes took money from the mortgage and banking companies instead of working to avoid this crisis. And he voted to pave the way for the largest tax increase in history. We deserve better."

DCCC ramps up for Shea-Porter

WASHINGTON - Anticipating a competitive race, national Democrats are ramping up their efforts to defend U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-Rochester).

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee's independent expenditure arm has reserved more than $2 million in the expensive Boston-New Hampshire media market, a four-fold increase from its initial media buy, according to a source with knowledge of the reservation. All told, the committee plans to air seven weeks of ads targeting Shea-Porter's Republican opponent, former U.S. Rep. Jeb Bradley.

The DCCC began its offensive in the district in mid-September with a $490,000 advertising blitz aimed at Bradley's record in Congress.
