Change in senate due to lack of results

According to a senate insiders, the call for change that lead to Peter Bragdon overthrowing Ted Gatsas for Minority Leader was overwhelming. The Republican Senators wanted change after the election results from last week still had them trailing the Democrats. Senators were not happy with the Senate PAC under Gatsas and the lack of a focused effort in the elections.  They believe had there been even the slightest political plan, the would have  won Paul Laflamme and possibly even Andy Sanborn making it a 12-12 Senate.

Gilmour ekes out win in SD-12

In the three-way state senate race in district 12, political newcomer Peggy Gilmour (D-Hollis) was able to beat Paul LaFlamme (R-Nashua) and Betty Hall (D-Hollis) in a close election.

With 86 percent of precincts reporting, Gilmour beat LaFlamme by 658 votes.

Dems maintain advantage in State Senate

After months of candidates campaigning and spending records amount of money, the New Hampshire state senate has not changed hands.

The Democrats maintain a 14-10 advantage in the state senate, the same margin they had coming into Election Day. Not a single seat changed hands.

Clemons calls state senate races ‘tight’

NASHUA--State Rep. Jane Clemons (D-Nashua) said that she expects both state senate races in Nashua to be "tight" on Election Day.

Hall is wild card in SD-12 race

In the race to replace retiring state Sen. David Gottesman (D-Nashua), a well-known state representative is poised to potentially play the spoiler.

In the senate District 12 race, there is a three way match between Peggy Gilmour (D-Hollis), Paul LaFlamme (R-Nashua) and state Rep. Betty Hall (I-Brookline). Hall is best known for introducing resolutions to impeach President Bush and Vice-President Cheney in the New Hampshire House.

LaFlamme thinks Hall will pull votes from all candidates

NASHUA-State Senate candidate Paul LaFlamme (R-Nashua) thinks the possibility that state Rep. Betty Hall (I-Brookline) will appear on the November ballot as a competitor will make the race "close."

Hall is staging an independent bid to appear on the ballot in the district 12 state Senate race between LaFlamme and Peggy Gilmour (D-Hollis).

Hall submits 1200 signatures

Independent state Senate candidate Betty Hall has submitted the necessary number of signatures to be verified by local election officials.

Hall, of Brookline, is attempting to run for the state Senate in the 12th district, which includes parts of Nashua, Hollis, Mason and Brookline. To gain access to the November ballot she needed to submit 700 signatures for verification and now must wait for the town clerks to approve the signatures.

Betty Hall giving serious consideration to Senate or Congressional run

Inside Edge has confirmed Democratic state Rep. Betty Hall, of Brookline, is giving serious thought to running for either state Senate or Congress on nomination papers as an independent candidate.

If Hall were to run for Senate on nomination papers, she would need 750 signatures to appear on the November ballot. As of now the only announced candidates for SD-12 are Democrat Peggy Gilmour and Republican Paul LaFlamme.
