It was Bradley's second lost to Shea-Porter. In 2006, Shea-Porter pulled off a close upset against Bradley and this time around she beat him by over 20,000 votes.

Scott would fill Ryan role if asked

Susan Scott, the candidate who New Hampshire Democrats hoped would defeat state Rep. Jim Ryan (D-Franklin) says she would fill his place on the ballot if asked.

Facing charges relating to a forgery case Ryan has resigned his seat and will not be on the November ballot. Under state law the Democratic Party can fill his slot with a replacement. Last week, the party recruited Scott (D-Franklin) to stage a write-in campaign in an attempt to knock Ryan off the ballot. However, Scott was unable to finish ahead of Ryan in the primary and Ryan's name would still appear on the ballot if he had not resigned.

MANCHESTER-- The head of the International Association of Fire Fighters say the group's endorsement of U.S. Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) during the primary did not affect the group's reputation.

"Our reputation is based on loyalty, we don't treat our endorsement like a race track," IAFF General President Harold Schaitberger said in an interview with PolitickerNH.com. "We take a look at the issues and see which horses have stood with us on the issues."

The group announced its endorsement of Dodd in the same location where the group today endorsed former Gov. Jeanne Shaheen's (D-Madbury) senatorial campaign.

"Jeb Bradley, as a former congressman, is well known and certainly familiar to the Republican base and in addition to that he really beat us up in the last couple of days," Stephen's Campaign Manager Greg Moore said. "He really ramped up his TV ads the last few days and he just cranked out a couple of harsh ads."
