Lynch v. Kenney looking more likely

When Manchester Mayor Frank Guinta decided last week to pass on the race and focus on Manchester the search went out quickly for another candidate.  Names from the past such as Chuck Douglas, Steve Merrill and Charlie Bass were tossed around, but none of them appear to be interested.  While Merrill is letting his name be tossed around, most believe that is to keep his name in the public eye for 2010 in case US Senator Judd Gregg decides not to seek another term.

Time is ticking away and everyday it appears almost no one is interested in taking on Lynch and his 73% approval rating.

an John Lyons.  Lyons is considering the race, but has yet to commit one way or the other.

While the conservative grassroots activists seem to be ready to rally behind Kenney, most of the "players" don't give him any chance and will probably only show token support and concentrate on saving John Sununu

One well respected party leader told Inside Edge on background that this will probably be a year when Republicans rely on John McCain and John Sununu to excite the base and help the down ticket races and will expect very little from the gubernatorial candidate.
