Republican leadership doesn't exist
Republican "leadership" can't be this week's loser... because it doesn't exist. People don't know about the deficit because Fungus is busy telling jokes and is obsessed with Hodes and Sheaporter. Recruitment for Governor & State Senate and Party fundraising are all non-existent.
Yesterday's GOP State Committee meeting was a joke. Poorly attended, horribly run, no motivational speaker, no enthusiasm or energy.
We are going to get our clocks cleaned in November. When will someone step forward that really knows how to lead our party instead of the buffoon we are saddled with?
I forgot to mention: the
I forgot to mention: the attempt to gut the ethical standards for lobbyists that the Dem leadership supported went down by a 163-100 vote.
Here are some more losers:
Here are some more losers: Terri Norelli and her leadership team. For the first time as Speaker, Norelli went to the well to speak, pleading with her fellow Democrats to support the amendment. They turned a deaf ear to her, much like she did to them as they have been telling her for two years that they didn't want an amendement. Rather than listen to the folks who put her in office, she felt a greater allegiance to the Governor. Bad decision. She lost a lot of respect because of her actions.
The dissatisfaction with Norelli and her team was further evident later that day as well as the next day. After Norelli's amendment was shot down, her right hand man, Dapper Dan Eaton, the majority floor leader, moved to table further debate and deprive others of presenting their amendments to CACR34. Eaton made the same motion in the same situation last year and it passed easily. This time it was shot down by the House. A lot of Dems felt betrayed and were in no mood listen to the leadership.
The next day, Dapper Dan went to the floor to argue for a bill that would have gutted ethical standards for lobbyists. This was just a couple of weeks after the House overwhelmingly shot down a different bill that would have done the same thing. Rather than listen to their fellow Dems, the leadership tried to slip it by them in a diffent bill. That might have worked a year ago. No longer. The rank-and-file Dems have found their voice and can no longer be led around like sheep.
Norelli has a lot of fence mending to do if she wants to be re-elected Speaker. She's well-liked by most everyone. However, much of her leadership team is aloof and arrogant. Unfortunately, Norelli is out of touch with the rank-and-file and doesn't realize how they feel about her team.
Another Winners and Losers, another offensive comment.
Saying the Governor's popularity is due to the ignorance of New Hampshirites? Great way to win us over.
